For Volumetric Karl-Fischer Titration, refer to the K90810 Automatic Titrator.

Test Method

For determination of Total Acid Number (TAN) or Total Base Number (TBN) of oils and fats. The acid number expresses the quantity of base required to neutralize all acidic constituents of the sample. It is a quality feature for freshness of oils and fats. The base number indicates the quantity of acid which can be neutralized by additives in mineral oils.

The measurement uses a potentiometric titration method in an anhydrous medium. The titration with titrant starts, once the oil sample is dosed into the reagent. The user has to enter the sample weight into the menu. The titration speed is precisely adjusted to the reaction rate by control.

Test Method

For rating the tendencies of gas turbine fuels to deposit decomposition products within the fuel system. Measures the high temperature stability of gas turbine fuels using an instrument that subjects the test fuel to conditions that can be related to those occurring in gas turbine engine fuel systems. The fuel is pumped at a fixed volumetric flow rate through a heater, after which it enters a precision stainless steel filter where fuel degradation products may become trapped.

The Sulfur Titrator is designed for the determination of sulfur compounds as hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan sulfur in liquid hydrocarbons and oils. The measurement uses a volumetric titration method with silver nitrate solution in an anhydrous medium. This measurement generates silver sulfide (Ag2S) and silver mercaptides.

Test Method

The value of Bromine Index or Bromine Number expresses the trace the amount of unsaturated constituents of hydrocarbons and oils. It is determined by measuring of consumed bromine for cleavage of double or multiple bounds during the titration. The value are needed for determination of parameters for further processing of petroleum products.

The measurement uses a potentiometric titration method in an anhydrous medium. The titration with titrant starts, once the sample is dosed into the reagent. The user has to enter the sample weight into the menu. The titration is performed automatically until the endpoint indication of measurement.

Test Method

For determination of carbonate and bicarbonate hardness of water samples. The alkalinity of natural waters is primary caused by hydroxyl ions in free state and the salts of carbonate and bicarbonate along with borates, silicates and phosphates.

The measurement uses a volumetric titration method with sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid (0.01 – 0.1 mol/L). Once the water sample is dosed into the reagent, the titration with acid starts. The user has to enter the sample weight into the menu. The titration speed is precisely adjusted to the reaction rate by control algorithms. The titration is performed automatically until the endpoint indication of measurement.
