Technical Sales Engineer
Role Description
The primary purpose of this role is to drive and increase revenue by increasing the exposure of Koehler Products across a wide range of avenues. The candidate must exhibit strong written and oral communications skills as the position will require constant communication between different departments within the organization as well as with customers and distributors. The specialist will provide technical sales support to customers and distributors and work directly with distributors to ensure they are knowledgeable about the product line and have the latest product information for their marketing activities. Project Management, effective multitasking, and prioritizing are essential time management skills that the candidate will need to exhibit on a daily basis.
The position may require moderate travel to ASTM International meetings and other technical industry conferences throughout the year (3x-4x per year). The candidate must be personable with the openness and desire to meet and network with other industry professionals in a conference setting. They will also be responsible for assisting in day-to-day marketing communications, content development, and the organization’s online and social media presence.

Prerequisites/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with a specialization or demonstrated experience in business or marketing
- Clear history of ability to manage multiple projects at once (ability to multi-task)
- Basic computer literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide sales team with quick technical references to help our team sell to our end users and support our distributors
- Provide application support for the product line
- Write and maintain Operation and Instruction manuals
- Include part number verification (for spares and other accessories), technical clarification and standards explanation to the Sales Team
- Research different markets where Koehler could take part in to expand its business beyond petroleum and petrochemical testing
- Write Company Newsletters for customer and distributor databases
- Responsible for Marketing Communications and the organizations online and social media presence
- Provide technical assistance for developing marketing product videos and producing online webinars and virtual product demonstrations
- Play a key role in conducting in-house product training seminars; perform product demonstrations and give product presentations
- Work with universities / start-ups to develop new products/ideas
- Prepare product comparison summaries to distribute to customers and distributors
- Ensure all quotations are technically correct and continuously look for ways to improve such quotations
- Work with Sales Team on Product Technical Compliance documentation to ensure products being offered meet user requirements
- Product sourcing for projects in which the organization does not manufacture or supply the product
- Work closely with marketing to provide substantial content (technical articles, troubleshooting guides, etc.) for the Website and Upcoming Content Marketing Plan
- Provide online training and demonstrations to customers and distributors looking to purchase our products
- Work with IT Department on Website, CRM, and ERP related issues. Act as the Liaison for the Sales, Marketing, and Technical Service Departments
- Attend and participate ASTM International Meetings (2x per year). Meeting responsibilities include attending meetings, actively participating, volunteering for ILS Round Robins and Test Method maintenance. Ensure Koehler product compliance to test methods.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000 per year
